Builtvisible is an award-winning digital marketing agency specialising in SEO, content, and analytics. I joined the company back in 2015, right in the middle of a massive rebrand. Five years down the line, I found myself leading the refresh of the very brand I’d helped shape.
Let's get building.
Builtvisible evolved over those 5 years, and the services we offered grew right along with it. A brand refresh was well overdue. Not just a lick of paint, but a targeted overhaul of the brand's look and feel.
First off, I simplified the colour palette, keeping only pink and dark grey as our primary colours. I then introduced new secondary tones to complement and elevate the primary palette.
Circular became our primary font, with two weights available: Bold and Book. Sticking to a single font guaranteed consistency across internal document production and optimised our website's loading times.
Museum-worthy inspiration.
Inspiration for the illustrations came from Emma Kunz’s geometric artworks. Her pieces—precise yet abstract—encapsulate the digital nature of the company to a T.
I coordinated between the design and development teams to build a script capable of generating random geometric vector patterns. This script boosted our efficiency massively, churning out over 100 abstract illustrations in under 2 minutes. You can check out some of the illustrations we created below.
The brilliant people working at Builtvisible inspired the new photography style. I wanted to pay tribute to the talent that makes the company so unique and put their faces alongside the products we promote on the site. Teaming up with our photographer, we built an image library that captures the company's professional yet approachable vibe in a totally honest and candid way.
An atomic design.
We had the chance to rebuild the site from scratch, applying atomic design principles. The modular approach sped up page production and eliminated any inconsistencies between layouts designed by different designers. Needless to say, the dev team were chuffed with the well-defined style guide and reusable modules.
