Bimuno, a leading prebiotic supplement company, wanted to create a video explaining how prebiotics help keep bad bacteria in check. My role in the project was to conceptualise, design, and produce the animation (as well as keeping the bad bacteria on their best behaviour).
How do you even draw a lactobacillus?
I kicked off the project by creating a storyboard based on the client’s script. This gave me a clearer picture of the scenes I needed to build, while also helping me figure out how to streamline the production of all the individual elements making them up.
Once Upon a Time... Life.
The illustration style draws inspiration from Once Upon a Time... Life, one of my absolute favourite cartoons as a kid. The series also inspired the warm palette, which I tweaked to highlight Bimuno’s brand blues and greens.
Look mum, I'm on TV.
You can check out the final result below. The client was so chuffed with how clear the animation turned out that they used a chunk of it in one of their TV commercials. I finally got to brag to my mum that I've made it onto telly!
